Winner photo contest
The very last weekend of the exhibition Comfort zone is already around the corner. For over nine weeks, the collaborative project Suitecase conversations by Anita Oosterloo and myself has been on display. I taught the masterclass Seeing Like an Artist, and we also held a photo contest — the winner has now been announced!
Het allerlaatste weekend van de expositie Comfortzone staat al weer voor de deur. Ruim 9 weken werd het samenwerkingsproject Kofferconversaties van Anita Oosterloo en mijzelf tentoongesteld. Ik gaf de masterclassKijken als een kunstenaar en er was een fotowedstrijd. De winnaar daarvan is nu bekend!
Kunstpunt
Media attention always pushes me far outside my comfort zone.
At the same time, it’s of course a great feeling to be seen.
This time by Kunstpunt, which not only highlights my work but also draws attention to the exhibition Comfort zone at Wallhouse #2.
On view for two more weeks!
Media-aandacht brengt me altijd ver buiten mijn comfortzone. Tegelijk is het natuurlijk heel fijn om gezien te worden. Dit keer door Kunstpunt, dat niet alleen mijn werk belicht, maar ook aandacht vraagt voor de expo Comfortzone bij Wallhouse #2. Nog twee weken te zien!

It’s dark. In the raging storm, you silently leave the house while everyone is asleep. Soaked to the bone, you get into your car. This is the moment. Finally.
Het is donker. In de woedende storm verlaat je geruisloos het huis terwijl iedereen slaapt. Kletsnat stap je je auto in. Dit is het moment. Eindelijk.

Huis Marseille
I find myself squinting at a menu full of strange and wonderful names. “Go for an Esma,” my wife suggests — she has, of course, already made her choice ages ago. I raise an eyebrow. “It’s Teun van de Keuken’s favorite cocktail,” she adds. The Espresso Martini turns out to be a brilliant pick. You learn something new every day.
Same with Huis Marseille last week. Hard to believe, but I had never been there before.
Ik tuur naar een menu vol vreemde en wonderlijke namen. “Neem maar een Esma,” stelt mijn vrouw voor — zij heeft haar keuze natuurlijk allang gemaakt. Ik kijk haar vragend aan. “Dat is de favoriete cocktail van Teun van de Keuken,” legt ze me uit. De Espresso Martini blijkt een uitstekende keuze. Zo leer je nog eens wat.
Net zoals vorige week bij Huis Marseille. Was ik nog nooit geweest.
