Bisto Grutsk held up as a model for art initiatives in healthcare

Art and culture add colour to life, both literally and figuratively. But how do you get it right?

Vilans, the knowledge organisation for care and support, recently published a brochure with inspiring examples of how art can be used successfully in healthcare. The brochure features 11 art initiatives, including the Bisto Grutsk project, which I contributed to.

For this project, I made 16 portraits of older people living at home and clients of ZuidOostZorg, which were on display at Museum Opsterlân for three months earlier this year. The exhibition is touring various locations for a year, currently at residential care centre De Miente in Gorredijk.
