It’s always interesting to get a glimpse into the creative process of a great artist—what the initial concept was, where he or she struggled, and what ultimately drove the work. In that sense, Erwin Olaf’s retrospective turned out to be far more inspiring than I had anticipated.

Het is altijd interessant om een inkijkje te krijgen in het creatieve proces van een groot kunstenaar — wat het oorspronkelijke concept was, waar hij of zij mee worstelde en wat het werk uiteindelijk heeft gedreven. In die zin bleek de overzichtstentoonstelling van Erwin Olaf veel inspirerender dan ik had verwacht.
