Contretemps
Een ziekenhuisopname betekent vaak tegenslag: een plotselinge verstoring van het gewone ritme, soms zelfs een botsing met de tijd. Contretemps is een begrip waarin deze betekenissen samenkomen.
Het gelijknamige fotografencollectief – deels gevormd door zorgprofessionals uit het UMCG – markeert haar twintigjarig bestaan met persoonlijke interpretaties van het begrip Contretemps.
In verschillende verschijningsvormen zien we de teruggetrokken mens, in zowel tijd als ruimte. Tegelijk laten deze beelden zien dat juist in momenten van stilstand ruimte ontstaat voor nieuwe inzichten en onverwachte veerkracht.
Contretemps
A hospital admission often means a setback: a sudden disruption of the ordinary rhythm, sometimes even a collision with time itself. Contretemps is a term in which these meanings converge.
The photographic collective of the same name — partly formed by healthcare professionals from UMCG — marks its twentieth anniversary with personal interpretations of the concept of Contretemps.
Across various manifestations, we encounter the withdrawn human figure, both in time and in space. At the same time, these images reveal that it is precisely in moments of stillness that space emerges for new insights and unexpected resilience.
