One of the things I love about gravel cycling is the sense of calm it gives me. My phone is tucked away, there’s nothing and no one demanding my attention, while the rural landscape rushes past in a blur. The silence around me leaves me with just one thing to listen to: my own thoughts.
I look a Highland cow in the eye, its fluffy coat and all. I think back to the opening of Mariëlle Gebben’s solo exhibition Pink pillow at Galerie Noord, which I visited last weekend. And I think about the latest image I made for the series What were you thinking?
What do you think the lady in pink was thinking?

What were you thinking? maakte.
