A bit of peeking around
After seeing Van der Elsken's photos, I got the itch to do a bit of peeking around on the Museumplein myself. Amsterdam lends itself brilliantly to street photography. With all those tourists around, nobody bats an eye if you're standing there taking photos. And I was in good company, too: with Amber Beckers. And the pigeons, of course.
Na het zien van Van der Elskens foto’s kreeg ik zelf toch ook veel zin om lekker wat op het Museumplein rond te gluren. Amsterdam leent zich enorm goed voor straatfotografie. Met al die toeristen kijkt niemand ervan op als je staat te fotograferen. Bovendien was ik in goed gezelschap: met Amber Beckers. En de duiven uiteraard.
