The Art Museum Brandts
This summer we spent our holiday in Sweden. On the way there, we also stayed a few days in Odense (Denmark), which gave me the chance to visit the beautiful Kunstmuseum Brandts. There was a surprising variety of art on display. I was intrigued by the portraits of Danish painter Jens Juel (1745–1802), but I was equally drawn to the imaginative watercolors of Jakob Martin Strid (best known as the author and illustrator of The Fantastic Bus).
Deze zomer zijn we in Zweden op vakantie geweest. Onderweg daarnaar toe verbleven we ook enkele dagen in Odense (Denemarken), wat me de kans gaf om het fraaie Kunstmuseum Brandts te bezoeken. Er was een verrassende verscheidenheid aan kunst te bewonderen. Er waren intrigerende portretten van de Deense kunstschilder Jens Juel (1745-1802), maar ook de fantasievolle aquarellen van Jakob Martin Strid spraken mij erg aan (o.a. schrijver en illustrator van de Fantastische Bus).
