Art, to me, is a form of expression through which I visually communicate my deepest thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Each of my series reflects a particular period of my life, like a visual diary. Recurring themes within it are control, change, and resilience.

By deliberately letting go of control, I allow chance and unpredictability to play an important role in the work. The folds, tears, scratches, and other visual surprises that emerge in the process give the image a sense of history and physicality.

Bringing personal thoughts and feelings to the surface isn't something that comes naturally or easily to me. Because I'm exposing part of myself, it often feels uncomfortable and vulnerable. Here too, I often have to let go of control. But feelings of uncertainty, fear, and hope are universal, and they carry a connecting power. Art releases energy, sets things in motion, and invites us into conversation with one another.
